Training imparted to counting staff

LEH: District Election Officer (DEO), Leh Simrandeep Singh on Friday imparted training to the counting staff, to be deployed for counting the votes of Nubra and Leh Assembly Constituencies on 23rd December, 2014 of the District.
As many as, 40 counting supervisors/ assistants attended the first day of the training programme held at Conference Hall Leh.
The DEO highlighted the necessary provisions related to counting of votes through presentation. He directed the counting supervisors to inspect the EVM before counting and ensure that the Control Unit (CU) is not tampered and all seals are intact. He also asked for keen checking of the paper seal number, calculation of the results noted in part II of Form-17 besides maintaining the secrecy of voting.
The DEO informed that 14 tables for Leh Assembly Constituency and four tables for Nubra have been set up which will be allotted in the early morning of the courting day. The counting shall begin at 8:00 AM and the Counting Supervisors/ Assistants must reach the venue, i.e., Degree College, Leh at 7:45 AM.
