Tiranga rally under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ gaining pace

SRINAGAR: To pay homage to the freedom fighters and all other brave soldiers, who have sacrificed their lives for the unity and integrity of the Nation, Summer Capital of Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing massive Tiranga rallies, Meri Maati Mera Desh, Har Ghar Tiranga ,Walkathon of City Colleges, and several other functions as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotasav, in connection with the weeklong celebrations of Independence Day and International Youth Day.
A remarkable display of unity unfolded in forward areas of Boniyar Uri near LOC on Thursday as villagers joined hands for Har Ghar Tiranga rally collaborating with Indian Army.
In Bandipora, police and school students organised a Tiranga rally under the theme of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’.
On August 9 , Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta flagged off a mega Tiranga Rally at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, in connection of celebrations of 77th Independence Day. Divisional administration was present during the event. The Mega rally was organised by District administration in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports which was attended by hundreds of school students.
Another Tiranga rally was organised by Srinagar police at Historical Lal Chowk near Ghanta Ghar in which several school children were participated with Triclours.
Earlier on August 1, Tiranga rally held at Dal Lake near Nehru Park, the rally witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of people who proudly waved Tricolour while riding traditional Shikaras.
A walkathon was organized in Srinagar by Red Ribbon Club of the college in collaboration with the J&K AIDS Control Society.
Principal A S College, flagged off the rally from Amar Singh College, campus in presence of Principal of City Colleges, Nodal Officers, RRC and other faculty of the college.
Apart from the students and faculty of the host College, faculty and students from city colleges participated in the walkathon. The rally comprising of hundreds of students holding placards in their hands about the HIV/AIDS awareness covered a distance of around 4 kms and went through the heart of the city Lal Chowk, culminated at Joggers Park Rajbagh.
The main motto of the walkathon was to bring awareness among the youth in particular and masses in general about the ill effects of deadly disease HIV/AIDS and the problems faced by youth.
Meanwhile LG Manoj Sinha reviews arrangements for Tiranga Yatra in Srinagar, which is going to held on August 13 from SKICC to Botanical Garden.
Prime Minister Narender Modi urged the people to make Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations grand with ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. In a message, the PM said ‘like last year, on the occasion of Independence Day, the entire country had come together for Har Ghar Tiranga. This time too we should ensure the National Flag is hoisted in every home. Let us recreate the Historical Moment of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga ‘ in every home.”
