MENDHAR: Two persons were killed and two others injured when the tipper they were travelling in, turned turtle on Poonch – Mendhar Road on Monday.
According to information the tipper bearing registration No JK12-2182 which was on its way from Poonch to Mendhar, turned turtle near village Uchhad in which two persons were killed including a woman and two others injured.
Those killed include Maksuda Bi (32) wife of Mohd Arif resident of Banola and Sarfraz Ahmed (25) son of Mohd Yaqoob resident of Chajla while the injured include Javed Ahmed (28) son of Mohd Qasim resident of Uchhad and Liaqat Hussain (30) son of Mohd Fazal resident of Salwah.
The victims were shifted by the Mendhar Police with the assistance of locals to Sub District Hospital Mendhar where the bodies of deceased were handed over to the family members after postmortem. Meanwhile the injured were evacuated to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu keeping in view their serious condition.
Meanwhile in another accident where a tanker hit a motorcycle, on Jammu – Poonch National Highway near army transit camp Narian, one person was killed and another seriously injured. Both the victims were shifted to Sub District Hospital Nowshera where the doctors declared Mohd Rafiq (60) son of Farooq Din resident of Muradpur, Rajouri as brought dead while Khadam Hussain (45) son of Nizam Din resident of Lam, Nowshera whose condition was serious was evacuated to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
The body of Mohd Rafiq was handed over to his family members after postmortem. The Nowshera Police have registered the case and taken into custody the tanker No JK01M-6086 and new motorcycle for investigation.
