UDHAMPUR : Police on Wednesday arrested three narcotics smugglers and recovered over 6 Kg Charas from the vehicle in which they were travelling.
According to a report, party of Police Station Udhampur led by Inspr. Mahesh Sharma, SHO and Gourav Mahajan, Dy. SP Hqrs. Udhampur under the overall supervision of Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, IPS Sr. Superintendent of Police, Udhampur while conducting surprise checking of the vehicles, intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK03A-1059 near Krimchi chowk and subjected it to thorough search.
During the checking of the vehicle, police noticed some unwarranted behaviour of the driver. On this, entire vehicle was unloaded and subjected to thorough serach in which 6 Kg 100 Gm Charas was found.
The consignment was seized and all the three narcotic smugglers were arrested who were identified as Bilal Ahmed son of Abdul Ahed resident of Katu Brijbehara, Anantnag, Raja Talad Taskeen son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Katu Brijbehara, Anantnag and Mohd. Aslam son of Mohd. Hussain resident of Lambi Gali Udhampur. A case under FIR No. 465/2014 section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
