Three held in Rs 5 lakh snatching case

JAMMU: Police claimed to have solved a cash snatching case by arresting three persons here on Wednesday.
According to reports on 16th May 2016 one Parveen Kumar, son of Harbans Lal, resident of Seri Panditan Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu, in an injured condition lodged a complaint at Police Post Pouni Chak that some miscreants have snatched cash amounting to Rs 5 lakh.
The police officials said that the complainant is working as a cashier in Security India Pvt. Ltd. Trikuta Nagar Jammu and his job is to collect cash from different clients and to get the same deposited in the account.
“On 16th May 2016 at 10:15 AM Parveen collected an amount of Rs. 5 lakh from Rahul of E.Com Express Courier Agency, Anand Nagar, Hazoori Bagh, Jammu, and took Talab Tillo route to get the money deposited in the HDFC Bank Bahu Plaza. When he reached in one of the lanes of Hazoori Bagh, three unknown person on one motorcycle came from the opposite direction and stopped him. One of the accused attacked Parveen with a Toka on his elbow and back side of shoulder. The trio then snatched the bag containing cash Rs. 5 lakhs and fled towards Talab Tillo Jammu,” the police official said.
On this a case FIR No 140/2016 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Domana. In-charge Police Post Pouni Chak, SI Vikrant Singh immediately informed the incident to senior officers and sent the complainant for medical treatment.
In the meantime, SHO Police Station Domana, Insp. Rajeshwar Singh Slathia and SDPO Domana Surinder Sharma also reached the spot and the enquires were made from the nearby resident and also from the E.Com Express Courier Agency Anand Nagar, Hazoori Bagh. Jammu SP Rural Arun Gupta and SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta passed directions to constitute a team for investigating the case.
From some reliable sources, the police got a clue regarding the involvement of one Vishu alias Vishal Sharma, son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Galwaday Chavk, Tehsil Marh. Police then took Vishu into custody and after this other associates Bushan Sharma son of Sham Lal Sharma, resident of Punnu Di Hatti Tehsil Marh and Johny son of Babu Ram, resident of Patinyal Tehsil Marh, District Jammu. The trio were put under sustained interrogation and on the basis of their confession recovered Rs. 4,66,000 till the filing of the report. However the investigation in the case is going on.
