KATHUA: Police on Sunday arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 850 grams Charas from their possession in two seperate cases.
According to a report, police party of Police Station Kathua headed by SHO Police Station Kathua, under the supervision of Shamsher Singh, DySp Hqrs. Kathua and overall supervision of Pawan Parihar, SSP Kathua reacting swiftly upon a specific information laid down a Naka at W. No. 14 near Shakti Model School Kathua and intercepted two motorcyclists and nabbed two peddlers carrying contraband material namely Mohd. Shafi son of Gh. Rasool resident of Khokhyal and Tridu Ram son of Gian Chand resident of W. No. 14 Tehsil and district Kathua. During their personal search, police seized 800 grams Charas from their possession.
Both were arrested, motorcycle (PB58F-5044) seized and a case vide FIR No. 64/2017 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against both at Police Station Kathua.
Meanwhile, Meanwhile, as a part of special drive against drug menace launched by Poonch Police on the direction of SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey under supervision of DySP Ops Saleem Bhat , during the patrolling and Naka checking police party of Police Station Mandi intercepted one drug peddler namely Shab Din son of Mohd Din resident of Jallian Tehsil Mandi and recovered 50 grams Charas from his possession. A case vide FIR 20 /2017 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Mandi.
