JAMMU: Two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME)-cum-workshop and Ninth Annual Conference of North States Chapter of Anatomical Society of India (NSCASI) on Total Knee Replacement and Demonstration of Anterolateral approach to hip took off here on Saturday.
The Minister for Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din as Chief Guest inaugurated the conference attended by over fifty delegates from across the Northern States.
Principal Government Medical College Jammu Dr. Ghanshyam, Dr Sunanda Raina, Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy, Dr Anil Gupta, HoD Orthopedic, Prof. and Head Department of Pathology K.K Kaul, HoD orthopedic, other seniors doctors were also present on the occasion.
On the first day, different sessions and plenary lectures were delivered by Anatomists of national and international fame.
On the occasion, a Souvenir was also released, while the visiting experts were presented mementoes.
In his inaugural function, the minister described the events related to the Continuing Medical Education as important for improving the quality of Medicare services.
He said that the events provide the Medical Fraternity an opportunity to update knowledge and find solution Medical problems through exchange and sharing of scientific ideas.
Earlier, the minister also inaugurated comprehensive Haemophilia Care Centre in PG Department of Pathology .
The Centre shall provide factors and all associated medical facilities to all the haemophilia patients and other coagulation disorder patients under one roof like physiotheraphy, orthopedic check up and facilities of surgeons, neuro surgeon and intensive care management to cater to emergency cases.
Besides round the clock emergency services and causality managements in case of trauma in such patients are available here. The centre has a facility of five beds specially designed for such patients.
The centre has been established at a cost of Rs 20 lakhs.
The minister also handed over medicines worth Rs 3 Lakh to the Health department, which were donated by Jammu Chamber of Commerce for the Border Firing victims.
