JAMMU: Swachhta Pakhwara is being observed by JK Group of Colleges as per the directions of NSS Directorate.
Day one witnessed the oath taking ceremony by NSS volunteers under the supervision of Neelam Mahajan, Programme Officer.
Shashi Chaudhary, Principal said that the purpose of observing this Pakhwara is to work for clean and healthy India as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This was followed by thoughtful speeches by students of the college in which they spoke about their commitment to work for clean and healthy nation.
On second day, the volunteers of NSS conducted cleanliness drive in the college campus. The students enthusiastically participated in cleaning their classrooms and library. The motive of this drive was to instill the feeling of working together for healthy environment. Days three to five witnessed the cleanliness drives in the college which were further extended by cleaning the playground, auditorium as well as ensuring the maintenance of clean toilets by the volunteers of NSS.
The principal appreciated the efforts of NSS unit and urged them to maintain the cleanliness of the surroundings.
