SVO books ex-CEO, others in graft case

JAMMU: Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) on Friday booked Tarsem Lal, the then CEO Jammu, Ram Rakha, the then ZEO Chowki Choura and Sheru Ram, the then Head Master Government High School Malla on corruption charges.
On the basis of an enquiry conducted by VOJ to probe into the allegations into the complaint against aforesaid accused persons regarding misuse of their official positions for extraneous considerations to give undue benefit to one Priti Rani, daughter of Bachan Dass, resident of Malla, Tehsil Karah Balli, District Jammu for appointing her as ReT Teacher in Government High School Malla, it was found that these officers of Education Department facilitated and appointed beneficiary Priti Rani as ReT Teacher in GHS Malla against post reserved for ALC candidate, however, the accused beneficiary Priti Rani, at the time of advertisement of post as well as the time of joining, was not possessing requisite ALC Certificate.
As such, the public servants in criminal conspiracy and connivance with beneficiary namely Priti Rani illegally appointed her by sheer abuse of their official positions and conferred undue benefit upon her. On the prima facie establishment of offences, Case FIR No. 29/2017 P/S VOJ has been registered in VOJ under Section 5 (1) (d) read with 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006 and Section 120-B RPC against the above mentioned accused persons and beneficiary woman and investigations have been started.
