JAMMU: State volleyball team on Friday left for participation in the 39th Sub-Junior National Volleyball Championship (boys and girls) to be held at Puducherry from 24th to 29th January, 2017.
Before their departure, the team underwent 17-day coaching camp organised by Volleyball Association of J and K in collaboration with J and K State Sports Council at MA Stadium Sports Complex under the supervision of Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer (J), J and K State Sports Council Jammu and coaches, here.
The teams were wished success by President of the Volleyball Association of J and K, Sidharth Daluja and Honorary General Secretary, Vijay Kumar Magotra.
Association president provided uniform kits and track suits to all participants and encouraged for upholding the image of J and K State in volleyball game at national level. Radhika Choudhary, Ram Lal, Mohd Tariq and Mudasar Hussain are accompanying the teams as managers and coaches.
As per a handout issued by the Association, J&K boys team has been placed in Pool-C with Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Manipur, Chandigarh and Bihar being other teams. State girls team has been placed in Pool-C and shall play their matches against Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Boys: Abhishek Sharma, Rachit Bhau, Naveen Sharma, Najir Singh, Ankit Chib, Harish Manhas, Syed Amar, Abhinandan, Mathiv, Sunil Singh, Tohib Gul and Zahid Hussain.
GIRLS: Sumeghal Bagal, Metali Sharma, Abhinayaa Sharma, Shreya Damathia, Renuka Bhagat, Lavanya, Sonia Sharma, Nazish, Simranjit Kour, Aayushi Jamwal, Monika Bagal and Nirdosh Kumar.
Manager MA Stadium Sports Complex Jammu, Ravi Singh, who conducted the screening of teams, also wished them best of luck.
