JAMMU: Sunil Dimple President Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) on Monday said the people of the State, unemployed youths, and employees are dissatisfied with the State budget. “The directionless State Budget 2016- 2017 presented by Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu in the State Assembly has failed to come up to the expectations of the people and will lead the State nowhere”, he remarked.
He pointed out that the budget has nothing to offer to the winter capital Jammu. “It seems that Coalition Government has put all the developmental projects including that of PWD ERA, PDD, PHE, traffic edifice, flyovers, etc in the cold storage”, he said adding that tourism prospects, business opportunities, etc have also been ignored thus giving a jolt to aspirations of the people of Jammu. Dimple in a handout issued here demanded exemption on VAT and sales tax on the sale of LPG, petrol, diesel and kerosene oil.
Stating there is nothing for the unemployed in the budget, Dimple also urged the chief minister and the finance minister to review the budget, withdraw new recruitment policy and give priority to eradicate unemployment.
