SRTC VRS employees hold protest

JAMMU: All J and K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association on Friday held a ‘Sarkar Virodhy’ agitation criticizing the attitude of the State Government and Transport Department for not clearing their pending dues.
Talking to reporters here, President of the Association, Dev Raj Bali said that the Central Government has given the benefits of 7th Pay Commission to its employees but they are still waiting for the arrears of 6th Pay Commission.
He said that government failed to redress their demands which include release of 126 slabs of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) with effect from 1st January, 2006, pending arrears with effect from 1999 and Sixth Pay Commission arrears with effect from 1st January, 2006.
Others present during the demonstration included J.D Singh, B.V Sharma, Prem Nath, Surjit Singh, Balwinder Singh, Gulshan Singh and Kulbir Singh.
