AMEAK suspends agitation on CM’s assurance on salary, attendance issues

JAMMU: All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) on Friday suspended its 120 day long agitation on the assurance of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that they won’t be forced to join their duties till situation is conducive in the Valley and their salaries would be credited to their accounts without interruption.
The assurance was given by the Chief Minister to the AMEAK delegation led by Vinod Pandit and King C Bharati yesterday while she deputed the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal to agitation venue to convey Chief Minister’s message directly to the agitating employees.
The Divisional Commissioner came to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Office and talked to the core group members and later addressed the employees conveying Chief Minister’s message.
The Divisional Commissioner told the employees that he has been instructed by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister B.B Vyas to convey to the employees that Chief Minister was very much aware of their situation and has assured them that nobody would be forced to join their duties till situation is conducive for them in the Valley.
He also told them the their salaries would be paid to them regularly keeping in view the prevailing conditions in the Valley adding no HoD or DDO would harass them or force them to join in Valley till further orders of the government.
He also assured them that their other demands would be taken up by the government and a permanent solution worked out regarding their security concerns and other related issues very soon.
