UDHAMPUR: District Development Commissioner Udhampur Niraj Kumar held a meeting with representatives of various sports associations here on Tuesday. Emphasising on the importance of sports, the DDC said that sports associations and District Youth Services and Sports Department should work in close coordination for promotion of sports in the district. The DDC said that the students should be provided conducive environment and proper coaching by the expert trainers so that they can excel. Earlier, the representatives of sports associations apprised the DDC about the problems being faced by them including shortage of funds, infrastructure and also stressed on organising Summer Special Coaching Camps. Chief Planning Officer Rakesh Jamwal, DYSSO Sudesh Kumar Chalotra, District President Volley ball Association Udhampur, District President Badminton Association Udhampur, Representative of Cricket Association, Representative of Handball Association, President of Table tennis Association, President Chess Association, President Kabaddi Association were present in the meeting.
