KATRA: Chiryai Volleyball Club to face Garhi Volleyball Club in the final of Invitational Volleyball Championship being organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra in the Synthetic Court, here tomorrow.
Earlier in the first semifinal, Chiryai Club with powerful spiking and fine defence by Aaquib and Rubin outplayed Katra Volleyball Club in straight sets 2-0 (25-19, 25-17). Garhi Club defeated Salal Club by 2-0 (26-24, 25-22) in the second semifinal.
Meanwhile, in tug of war under-460 kg category, Salal Club defeated Katra Club by 2-1 in neck to neck contest in the final and lifter the trophy.
Earlier, Salal Club defeated Arnas club 2-0 while Garhi Club beat Chiryai Club 2-1. In semifinal, Katra Club defeated Garhi Club 2-1 in same weight category.
The matches were officiated by Kuldeep Sharma,
Shashi Sharma and Manik Nargotra.
In today’s matches, Dr. Arvind Kirwani and Amit Virmani, Dy. Chief Executive Officers of the Shrine Board were Guests of Honour.
The tournament is being supervised and conducted by Ashok Kumar, Director Sports SMVDSB under the patronage of Ajeet Kumar Sahu CEO Shrine Board Katra.
