SAMBA: Police on Wednesday arrested six gamblers from different places of Vjaypur and recovered Rs 27,070 stake money from their possession.
The arrested gamblers were identified as Ashwani Kumar son of Manu Ram, Bhanu Slathia son of Kaka Slathia , Ganesh Slathia son of Narinder Singh and Rakesh Singh son of Raghuvir Singh all residents of Gurha Salathia , Ajay Sharma son of late Bodh Raj Sharma resident of Vijaypur and Davinder Singh son of Prem Singh resident of Gurha Slathia.
According to a report, a team of Vijaypur Police Station headed by Inspector Suraj Pathania raided at Thalori Vijaypur and arrested four gamblers who were playing in open place.
During their frisking, police recovered Rs 18,570 as stake money along with playing cards.
In another incident, police team also raided at Old Vijaypur near railway track and arrested two gamblers. During their frisking, police recovered Rs 8,500 stake money along with playing cards. All the accused persons were booked under13 Gambling Act.
