Shifting of Tehsil Office; Kishtwar to observe shutdown today

KISHTWAR: Issue of shifting of Tehsil Office Kishtwar took another turn as Joint Committee Traders Association Kishtwar gave a call for Kishtwar Bandh on Monday.
According to reliable sources, Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar during his Friday sermon also issued warning to government to not fiddle with the idea of shifting of Tehsil Office out of existing place.
Sources said that he also warned of joint action in coordination with the Hindu community in case government does not stay away from shifting the Tehsil office from existing building.
It is notable to mention here that, a PIL was filled by President Bar Kishtwar Imtiyaz Hamal, on which High Court Jammu in its judgement gave instructions to DC Kishtwar to immediately hand over Old DC Complex building to Kishtwar Court.
In this regard, a meeting was called by M.H Waza in the Court complex Kishtwar where members of Bar Association Kishtwar, Beopar Mandal Members and Senior citizens of Kishtwar were present.
During the meeting, a Joint Committee has decided that Kishtwar will observe complete shutdown on Monday, until the district administration assured general public of Kishtwar that they will not shift Tehsil or Court Complex Kishtwar from main market to outskirts.
Speakers said that we are only in favour of exchanging of buildings but not in a support of shifting of Tehsil Office to any other place.
When contacted Wahid Saroori President Beopar Mandal Kishtwar said “Our stand on shutdown call is clear and we will not allow anyone to shift Tehsil Office to any other place.”
Advocate Thakur Suman Bhandari Spokesman Bar Kishtwar said “We clarified to people of Kishtwar that it’s only swapping of two institutions, Court complex will be shifted to old DC complex and Tehsil Office will be shifted to present Judicial Complex.”
