SHD sets up special first aid camps

JAMMU: To cater to the problems being faced by the migratory breeders of Jammu division enroute downward migration and whose sheep and goats have suffered due to recent incessant rains and flood, a special First Aid Camp has been established by Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu at Aishmuqam in Anantnag district of Kashmir.
A Veterinary Assistant Surgeon with para-vet staff is deployed at the camp equipped with adequate requisite medicines for dosing, vaccination and other ailments of sheep and goats.
Moreover, various organisations of Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu have also set up first aid camps at various locations of all the migratory routes of Jammu division to provide timely first aid to the needy sheep and goats enroute during their downward migration from highland pastures to their respective winter headquarters.
Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr. Sant Ram is personally monitoring the functioning of these First Aid Camps for ensuring timely response to any disease problem to the livestock of migratory breeders. He has asked the breeders to take maximum benefit from these camps and advised them to manage their movement (migration) in accordance with the fair weather conditions for safety of their own and that of their livestock. A public alert has already been published in this regard.
