JAMMU: Sham Lal Sharma, BJP Vice-President and former Minister, conducted a Janata Darbar at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, here, accompanied by party members including BJP spokesperson Rajni Sethi, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Convenor Er. Dil Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Health & Medical Cell Convenor Puneet Mahajan, and Mahila Morcha Secretary Prerna Nanda.
During the event, Sharma praised the LG administration for its recent initiatives, such as granting land rights on government land to West Pakistani Refugees (WPRs) and the decision to address the Gair Mumkin Khads issue by issuing an order for the segregation of Khads.
He commended these moves as part of the Modi government’s commitment to resolving public issues promptly.
He also noted that BJP Jammu & Kashmir is actively engaging with the public through regular Janata Darbars to address grievances.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on promoting the Dogri language at the State level.
Sharma emphasized the need for proactive measures to enhance the use of Dogri in the region and addressed concerns from Dogri scholars about the limited advertisement of posts for Dogri Lecturers, with only one post available for 466 Higher Secondary schools.
Various deputations brought forward numerous local issues, including the non-availability of doctors at NTPHC, the need for a link road in Mathwar, new electric poles in Dewal Mahore, and repairs to infrastructure in different areas such as Sungal Akhnoor, Miran Sahib, and Gangyal. Issues also included excessive electric bills, relief for fire incident victims, and school upgrades.
Rajni Sethi affirmed the party’s commitment to addressing public problems, while Er. Dil Bahadur Jamwal noted that over 40 deputations had presented their issues. Puneet Mahajan reported that several issues were resolved on the spot, with further communications initiated with relevant departments. Prerna Nanda documented all the issues raised during the Darbar.
