JAMMU: Semifinals position has been cleared after Jammu Red, Jammu Blue, Tiger Club and Jammu South won their respective quarterfinal round matches in the two-day Jammu District Korfball Championship, organised by J and K Korfball Association at Green Fields Ground, here Wednesday.
In all, eight teams turned up for the competition resulting into the first round of quarterfinals. The Results: Quarterfinals: Jammu Blue beat Trikuta Club 8-6; Jammu Blue defeated Shining Star Club 7-3; Jammu South trounced Jammu North 9-5; Tiger Club outplayed Evergreen

Earlier, the competition was declared open by businessman, Ravinder Singh, who was Chief Guest. He interacted with the teams and encouraged them to take part in sports in a big way.
Among others present were General Secretary of the Association, Manjit Singh and Secretary, R.K Sharma as also members, Manjit Singh and Irfan Choudhary.
