SAMBA: A seminar on hazards of narcotic drugs was organised on Tuesday here at Govt Higher Secondary School Ghagwal.
The event was organised by People’s Forum for Human Values in collaboration with District Administration Samba. Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Sheetal Nanda was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The prominent citizens and students from various schools of Ghagwal Sub Division presented their views on growing menace of drugs and detrimental effects on the society and whole nation. A skit was also presented by students of GHSS Ghagwal highlighting the fallouts of drug addiction and its harmful consequences. Addressing the students, the DC said that young generation has become highly susceptible to narcotics and called upon the people to join the fight against this menace.
She called for parental supervision and firm resolve by the youth to not to fall prey to any temptation for using drugs. She also added that the family should immediately approach Drug Rehabilitation Centre in case any of its members use drugs. Later, the DC also distributed mementos to the participants from different schools and also appreciated their efforts.
The function was attended by SDM Ghagwal, Narayan Dutt Sharma, Tehsildar Ghagwal Kanchan Bala , BDO Bhawani Attri , ZEO Ghagwal , Principal GHSS Ghagwal , President People’s forum for Human Retd Lt Col Karan Singh, Advocate Subash Singh Sambyal and other prominent persons of the subdivision.
