Secretary Nuzhat felicitates Rollball bronze winner Ruhi

JAMMU: Secretary J&K Sports Council (JKSC), Nuzhat Gul on Wednesday felicitated, Ruhi Rajput, who was part of the Indian women team which secured third place in the just concluded VI World Cup Rollball Championship at Pune in Maharashtra.
She also interacted with the office bearers of Rollball Association of J&K (RBAJK) and praised their efforts in taking the game to the new heights thus providing the J&K men and women platform to perform and excel at the world stage. Nuzhat Gul, who always encourages participation of womenfolk in the sports, had a detailed discussion with Bronze medal winner, Ruhi with regard to the event and the performance of the Indian teams. She also complimented Madhu Sharma for guiding the Indian men team as head coach during the championship thus bringing laurels to the UT. Important to mention here that the Indian men team bagged Silver medal and the women team finished third in the World Cup hosted by India.
Earlier, President of the Association, Gautam Daluja introduced the RBAJK officials and presented a brief note of the event and also read out the profile of Ruhi Rajput.
Meanwhile, RBAJK informed that the Secretary was impressed with the performance of the J&K girl saying that her achievement would go a long way in encouraging others practicing Rollball in the Union Territory. “She (Secretary) has assured the Association of all possible help in encouraging the talent by way of improved infrastructure and technical assistance from the Government,” said Madhu Sharma. Also present were Sudhir Singh (technical official) and Shivnandan Singh (district secretary).
A total of 25 countries from across the globe took part in the World Cup.
