KATHUA: A meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of S. CharanJeet Singh, SDM Ghagwal and was attended by all the Sarpanchs of Block Ghagwal .
During the meeting discussions were held and all sector wise progress was reviewed and instructions were issued to the officers of the Deptts to attend the problem of people and ensure immediate redressal. The speaker pointed out that due to damage to transformer, electricity as well as water supply have been affected, they also pointed out that transformer has been damaged for the last 10-20 days but not restored till date.
Assistant Executive Engineer PDD said that due to damages to workshop, the transformers have not been repaired. The matter has been telephonically discussed with Executive Engineer PDD and PHE for early restoration. The Sarpanchs of the area opposed the opening of Sabji Mandi and showed their resentment and demanded that Mandi should not be opened there.
Regarding damages due to flood, cases in respect of houses damage, crop, and live stock are in progress and relief shall be given shortly. Sub Divisional Magistrate asked all the Sarpanchs that blocking of road is not a solution of problem and avoid such type of practice.
Accordingly directions were issued to all departments to remain in touch with the public and mitigate the problems.
