GANDERBAL: Nomination papers of 15 candidates from Ganderbal Assembly constituency passed the scrutiny conducted by the Returning Officer on Friday.
The scrutiny of papers for the Ganderbal Assembly constituency was held and 15 out of 16 candidates remained in the fray while one of the candidates was rejected.
A total of 16 nomination papers were received after the Election Commission issued the notification for the constituency which is going to polls in the first phase of the five phased election in the state of 25th November, 2014.
The notification for the constituency was issued on 28th October and the last fate for filing of nominations was 5th November, 2014. The last date for the withdrawal of nominations has been fixed as 10th November, 2014.
The scrutiny of papers for the Kangan Assembly Constituency was also conducted by the Returning Officer today and all the 10 candidates remained in the fray as none of the papers was rejected. The scrutiny of nomination papers was also conducted in all the three Assembly constituencies of District Bandipora namely Gurez, Bandipora and Sonawari by the respective Returning Officers of the constituencies.
A total of 16 nomination papers were received in Bandipora constituency out of which 14 were accepted while other two were rejected by the Returning officer. In Sonawari constituency nine out of the 10 nomination papers were accepted while one was rejected and in Gurez constituency all the four candidates passed the scrutiny.
All the three constituencies of district Bandipora are going to polls in the first phase of the five phased assembly elections in the State on 25th November, 2014.
