AKHNOOR: Taking a serious note of assaulting a scribe in the Office of SDPO Akhnoor on Wednesday, the Press Club Akhnoor demanded registration of an FIR against two alleged cops.
According to the case the scribe namely Raman Samotra of Dainik Jagran, Hindi News Paper who in the Office of SDPO Akhnoor was attending a telephone call on his mobile when two cops namely Monu and Manjeet snatched his phone and started beating him Samotra was injured in the incident.
A meeting of Press Club Akhnoor was held under its President Kishore Kumar in which it was demanded that an FIR be lodged against both these cops. They also said that if the police authorities fail to register a case against them, the press club will hold a protest in front of the Office of SDPO Akhnoor.
The matter has also been brought to the notice of MLA Akhnoor. Meanwhile sources said that both the cops have been suspended.
