Sat seeks more relief for Barnai Accident victims

JAMMU: While raising an important point in the session of Legislative Assembly at Jammu, BJP State President and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) raised the issue of providing an extra amount of relief in the shape of Rs 5 lakhs for the family of the victims who lost their lives at an accident near Barnai, Domana.
Sharma stated that though an amount of Rs 50,000 has been announced for each victim but he also stated that such an amount will only be able to bear the basic expenses.
He urged upon the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti that an ex gratia amount of Rs 5 lakhs should be given to the family so that the family could also cope-up with other necessities of life as well as they have also lost an earning hand from the family and it will be humanitarian on the part of our government if we give them an adequate amount of compensation which could help them further.
He also showed his concern for the increasing rate of road accidents in the State and suggested that decades have passed but still we don’t have an adequate safe policy for the accident victims or measures which could be adopted so that halt can be placed upon the increasing rate of accidents in the State.
BJP State President also added that any agency in the State (Government or Private) who have been allotted various woks in the State should also focus upon the quality of the works and must make provisions so that people can drive or walk on roads comfortably and the Government must also keep a vigil on them concerning the pace of their works.
