Sant Nirankari Mandal conducts blood donation camp
KATHUA : A blood donation camp was organized on Sunday by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, Kathua in collaboration with Government Medical College Jammu and District Hospital Kathua.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr Shahid Iqbal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua along with Brig. (retd.) P S Cheema, Member Incharge, Social Welfare and Medical Health, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Delhi. While speaking on the occasion Dr Shahid Iqbal said that Sant Nirankari Mission gave the real message of love, peace, communal harmony, and universal brotherhood. He assured his full cooperation to the Nirankari Mission for the welfare of mankind. He lauded the social welfare activities conducted by the mission all over the world.
Brig. (retd.) P S Cheema said that blood donation camps started in 1986 by his holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji and Param Pujya Mata ji and gave message that “Blood should flow in veins and not in drains”. Sant Nirankari Mission recognized blood as a universal human lifeline – all humans, despite caste, color, gender, or creed, need it to survive. He said that since 1986-2013 total 3627 Blood Donation Camps were organized in which 63,9785 units were donated while in 2014, 470 camps were planned by the Mission.
