POONCH: Displaying extraordinary hockey skills, Sanjana Yadav scored a brilliant hat-trick to power Sham Lal Hockey Club to a convincing victory over Khelo India Hockey Club by three goals to two (3-2) in an exhibition match played on the theme–‘Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, BBBP campaign at Synthetic Hockey Astroturf, Poonch on Saturday.
District Social Welfare Department Poonch, organised the match to provide exposure to girls and hone their sporting skill, besides involving them in sports activities to not to derail from the mainstream.
District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Abdul Raheem was the Chief Guest, who interacted with the players of both the teams and witnessed the game.
Earlier, a Cricket match was also played on the same theme between Stadium XI and Kanuyian Club, wherein Stadium XI emerged the winner in a close contest.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest advised the players to work hard to achieve the desired results and be as the messengers of this campaign.
He assured all support from the department for the promotion of sports culture in the district.
The chief guest applauded the coaches for providing budding talent a platform to perform.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Nirdosh Kumar, Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Narinder Singh (ZPEO Poonch), Narjeet Singh Retd (ZPEO), Kewal Krishan, Ravinder Singh, Laxmikant, Rajinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Harmik Singh, Imran Shah, Gurwinder Singh, and the employees of DSW Department, Poonch.
The match was officiated by Navjot Singh KI Hockey Coach, Harmik Singh, Vishu Sharma and Jagmeet Singh, while the match was conducted under the supervision of Pawan Kumar (PEL), Hockey Coach and Navjot Singh Khelo India Coach.
