Samba Bar Association calls off strike on assurance of Div Com Jammu

JAMMU: A delegation of Samba Bar Association and its office bearers led by Vikram Sharma, Senior Advocate & President J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu on Thursday met the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Ramesh Kumar and thanked him for addressing the grievance of legal fraternity in general and Samba Bar Association in particular.
It may be called that Samba Bar Association had been on agitation airing their grievances against the conduct of a Sub Registrar’s office.
The issue had gained wider publicity and unequivocal support from Bar Associations across the Jammu Province including J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
On an initiative to seek the redressal of the grievance of by the peaceful mode through negotiation with the Administration, the Samba Bar Association office bearers approached the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu and the latter had sought negotiation with the Office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
In a meeting conducted on 4th August of 2023, the lawyers were assured of an amicable settlement of the issue and redressal of their grievances.
Today on an intimation from the office of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, a large number of members of Samba Bar Association led by its President Mandeep Singh Sambyal, Advocate under the aegis of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu President Vikram Sharma, Senior Advocate alongwith office bearers of Young Lawyers Association met the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu in his office, where they were apprised about the Government Order No. 950/JK (GAD) of 2023 dated August 10, 2023, whereby the powers of Sub Registrar, Ghagwal, stood assigned to Assistant Director, FCS & CA, Samba.
The order was read out to the visiting delegation and all the lawyers from Samba Bar Association unanimously appreciated the efforts of the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu for redressing their grievances in shortest possible time.
Later, the Samba Bar Association presented bouquet to Vikram Sharma, Senior Advocate & President J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu for his efforts in ensuring the redressal at such earliest.
The office bearers of the Samba Bar Association resolved to resume their work in view of the development.
The office bearers of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu namely Amit Gupta (Vice-President), Parvesh Singh Salaria (General Secretary), Chetan Misri (Joint Secretary), Utkarsh Pathania (Treasurer) and Rohit Sharma (President, Young Lawyer Association), Gagandeep Singh Lucky (Vice President) YLA, Yaseer Farooq Khan (General Secretary YLA), Sunil Khajuria, Sachin Dev Singh, Zulkarnain Choudhary, Atul Raina, Daksheesh Maharaj and other were part of the delegation.
