S D Singh takes over as IGP Jammu

JAMMU: Dr S.D Singh, an IPS Officer of 1995 Batch J and K Cadre took over as the new Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone, Jammu, replacing IGP Danesh Rana here on Wednesday.
Prior to his posting as IGP Jammu Zone, Singh served in the Police Department in various capacities as SDPO Kothibagh, Additional SP Doda, SP Leh, SP Kupwara, SSP Traffic, Jammu, SSP Poonch, SSP Vigilance, SSP Jammu, SSP SSG J and K, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, DIG, SKPA Udhampur and thereafter proceeded on deputation to Central Government in Intelligence Bureau and later in Ministry of External Affairs as Counsellor in High Commission of Indian in Colambo, Srilanka for the last six years.
A detailed briefing was given by the outgoing IGP Danesh Rana to the incoming officer on emerging challenges on account of crime, militancy, law and order of Jammu province. Besides, an introductory meeting was also held with the officers/official of ZPHQ Jammu.
Rana expressed satisfaction on his tenure and thanked all the officers for their co-operation provided to him in day to day working.
