DODA/KISHTWAR: Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sukhnandan Kumar accompanied by MLA Doda Shakti Raj and MLA Bhadarwah Daleep Singh on Thursday inspected various water supply schemes in Doda and Kishtwar and sanctioned augmentation of 3 stage Lift Water Supply scheme for Kishtwar District. Minister of State for PWD (R&B) and Revenue Sunil Sharma was also present on the occasion.
The minister while sanctioning the augmentation of Rs. 3.42 crore three stage lift water supply scheme for Kishtwar District said that government is fully aware about the shortage of water supply in Kishtwar adding that with the augmentation of 3 stage lift WSS district Kishtwar will get 4 lakh gallons of drinking water per day in addition to the already working lift which also supplies 4 lakh gallons of water per day.
Earlier, while inspecting the water supply schemes in Prem Nagar, Bhella, Kandhote, Thathri and Dhrabshala area, the minister directed the concerned officers to ensure speedy restoration of the WSSs that have got damaged or affected due to rains or landslides. Minister also directed the officers to ensure proper filtration and treatment of the drinking water before being supplied to the common masses.
