Rs 11,600 fine imposed on traffic violators

BHADARWAH: In its continuous endeavour to curb the violation of traffic rules and spread awareness among the people, Traffic Police Doda cracked down on the traffic rule violators along Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway (NH1B) on Wednesday.
The Traffic team led by DySP Traffic Doda-Kishtwar, Zohaib Hassan Challaned 29 vehicles and seized one, besides recovered Rs 11,600 fine for various offenses at Assar-Khellani-Pul Doda stretch on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway.
Confirming the figures, DySP Traffic Doda-Kishtwar Zohaib Hassan said that apart from awareness among the general masses about safe driving, authorities are enforcing relevant laws to discourage violation of traffic norms.
“Following traffic norms is important for safe driving and safety of passengers and co-commuters. The violation of traffic rules endangers life and property of the people. Often, some traffic jams also occur due to wrong parking,” DySP added, saying that this drive is not only to streamline the traffic violation but also to aware general public about its repercussions. However, DySP said that large number of people are cooperating with authorities.
