RO Karnah reviews election preparedness

KUPWARA: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Karnah who is also the Returning Officer (RO) of Karnah Assembly segment has convened a meeting of Tehsil level officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Presiding Officers, Polling Officers to review the poll preparedness for second phase of Legislative Assembly Election-2014.
To ensure the implementation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) the poll staff was sensitised by the Returning Officer under the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
The meeting informed that first phase of EVM training was imparted to 850 employees to be deployed for the poll duty on 2nd December, 2014 in the segment. As many as 17,046 male, 15,791 female voters are registered to use their franchise for the purpose 60 polling booths have been established and 338 service voters are registered.
The Returning Officer Karnah impressed upon the officers to adhere the MCC strictly as per the guidelines of ECI.
