Have they right to decide fate of Jammu, Ladakh?

0 66

Patriotism and love for the nation among Kashmir centric leaders of the so-called mainstream political parties is fair weather-when in power they show semblance of concern for the country and once out of it they even jump the lines set by chronic and hardcore secessionists. There may be problems and irritants in governance but the ‘out of power’ Kashmir leaders stretch these too far and end up in India bashing. This does not happen in Jammu or Ladakh regions. The people of the two regions never ever speak against the nation and its valiant forces, who are working in most difficult condition across the Valley. Howsoever adverse conditions they may confront, they remain patriots to the core.
In this era of social media, the compatriots feel disgusted to watch the videos of armed forces and their convoys being subjected to stone pelting by young lads. They are distraught to watch the statements of the Valley based leaders, who instead of showing some sort of humane approach, blame the forces for, what they call, atrocities, genocide and repression. And, height of all this is that they move around under heavy security cover, mostly comprising central forces, which they demonise day in and day out.
In such a depressing situation, the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions are in real dilemma how to react to venomous statements being vomited by responsible politicians, having remained Chief Ministers and the Union Ministers. Being governed by this dubious lot is fate-accompoli for Jammuities and Ladakhis- courtesy New Delhi, which always walks an extra mile in appeasing dubious politicians. They are not confined to one single party; they come from the so-called mainstream, which actually is a gang of opportunists who play musical chair game to remain glued to the power. Once thrown out of it, they go to any extent, like National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah, who termed militants active in Kashmir as new-generation youngsters, who don’t fear death for the larger objective of ‘Azadi’.
Dr Abdullah has remained the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir for three terms. He has been a Union Home Minister. He was a strong contender and aspirant to highest office of the President of India and Vice President of India. With such strong credentials and having occupied constitutional positions, should a person of the stature of Farooq Abdullah say, “These boys have left (for the path of militancy). Everyone loves life, nobody wants to die. They have made promise to God that you decide the matters of life and death but we will sacrifice our life for the freedom of this nation.” This is a perturbing scenario. It is not for the first time he has spoken the language of Syed Ali Shah Geelani. He has justified the waiving of ISIS and Pakistan flags in his own way and even offered support to Hurriyat Conference. In such a scenario shouldn’t Jammu and Ladakh speak out. In fact Kashmir too should come forward and show the right place to political chameleons.
To show the people like Farooq Abdullah their real face through the prism of people, STATE TIMES is carrying out a series of public reactions, knowing well that these leaders will use these columns for garnering support from the Valley. It has been strategy of the Valley based so-called mainstream leadership to use adverse comments coming from people beyond Banihal and Zojila Pass for their advantage by presenting these as anti-Kashmiri. The idea is not to question the integrity of an ordinary Kashmiri. But the overall objective is to seek the public opinion from Jammu whether they like the political buffoons to decide their fate when in power.
STATE TIMES team led by SAHIL VERMA spoke to cross section of opinion leaders and see on page 03 how they reacted to the statement of Dr Farooq Abdullah.

LET JAMMUITES SPEAK OUT
STATE TIMES is bringing out a series over the ‘anti-national’ statements being issued by hypocrite Kashmir centric leaders of the so-called mainstream political parties from time to time to hog headlines and to remain relevant to the Kashmir situation. Such a scenario is not acceptable to Jammu, which unfortunately is ruled by this lot of fair weather politicians. How you react to their rants and highly provocative statements, please jot down in 40-50 quick words and mail us at [email protected] along-with latest photograph, residential address and telephone #. Reactions can be sent via Whatsapp on #9419185778 also. STATE TIMES will be honoured to share your views with people of the Duggarland.
