Retired police personnel seek removal of pay anomalies

JAMMU: Retired police personnel on Sunday staged protest against the government seeking removal of pay anomalies.
Large number of retired police personnel assembled near Exhibition Ground under the banner of All J&K Retd Police Welfare NGO and ORS Forum and held protest amidst slogans in support of their demands.
Ajit Singh, President of the Forum, mentioned “The first pay anomaly committee was formed in the year October 2009 whose G.O No was 1387 GAD dated 8th October 2009 based on its recommendations, orders were issued vide G.D No. 296 F dated “, 1st December 2010 for removal of pay anomaly. The second committee was constituted on 15th September 2011 Govt. revived pay anomaly committee vide order No. 67- GAD of 2012 dated 16 January, 2012 to once again look into the pay anomaly. Now, for the third time, again 21st April, 2016, G.O No. 420 GAD of 2016 is formed to look into pay anomaly”
“Like two previous occasions of committees, this third committee should not be time killing. As such we want to know the time frame, since this is lingering on for the last 20 years,” Singh added
Singh urged the Government to finalise the anomaly on priority basis for the benefit of the retired police personnel.
