JAMMU: To express anger against failure of the authorities to take action against people involved in flesh trade, residents of Rajeev Nagar and Qasim Nagar on Tuesday while staging a demonstration demanding registration of cases against people involved in such heinous crime blocked Jammu-Srinagar National Highway for several hours here at Rajeev Nagar.
Residents including Panna Lal, Dalbir Singh, Samitri Devi, Yashpal, Rattan Chand, Rakesh Kumar, Gopal Dass, Paramjeet and Santosh Kumar alleged that police failure had led to considerable increase in flesh trade in the area. They demanded strict action against those who are involved and patronising such activities.
The residents lifted the Dharna after SP South Sehzad Salaria visited the spot and gave assurance about stern action against culprits.
