KUPWARA: Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Mohammad Ibrahim Wani, who is also Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kupwara on Friday convened the third meeting of Core Group to review the progress made so far in providing the relief and rehabilitation to flood victims.
District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Itrat Hussain Rafique, Additional District Development Commissioner, officers of District Administration, Judiciary and Bar Association were present in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that about 200 quintal of rice was donated by the Education department besides Rs. 3 lakh, donated by the local Army Unit, and Rs. 51,000 donated by the Health Department were utilised for purchase of medicines for the flood victims.
It was further informed that Rs. 7.50 lakh were provided by the District Administration to the next of kins of the five deceased families of flood victims besides Rs. 3.30 lakh were distributed among the flood affected families whose houses were damaged.
