J and K is in the grip of unprecedented floods. The armed forces and the National Disaster Management teams are putting in their best to help the flood-affected people. Thousands of people have been brought to safe places and arrangements made for their stay by the army. Blankets, medicines and food packets are being distributed to them. Describing the floods as a national calamity, Prime Minister Modi has sanctioned Rs 1,000 crore to the State for rescue and relief operations. He even rushed to Srinagar to supervise the operations and boost the morale of the state government and the people of J and K.
