JAMMU: President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri on Wednesday urged upon the State Government to immediately release two pending installments of 17 per cent DA due from January-July this year in favour of the employees of the State Government and the pensioners was done way back in 2009 during the election of Lok Sabha When the model code of conduct was enforce hence, there was no justification on the part of the Government to delay it as it was a routine financial matter.
Taking to media person here, Shastri said in 2009 the State Government had given approval on communication of then Chief Electoral officers after which State Government was released 7 per cent DA to its employees and pensioners.
Now the State Government should not take the Model Code of Conduct as an excuse to not to release two installments of pending DA in favour of 4.5 lakh employees and one lakh pensioners, he added.
Shastri hoped that the state government should take positive decision in this regard and release both installments of DA at the earliest so that salaried class and pensioners would get sigh of relief.
Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Surinder Kumar, Mohd Shafi, Darshan Lal, Bhopinder Singh, Barkat Ram, Sudesh Kumar, Parmjit, Vijay Kumar, Sukhdev Singh, Karan Singh and Ravinder Kumar.
