Jammu Municipal Corporation realises Rs 7,400 fine from defaulters

JAMMU: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Wednesday carried out drive and discarded 19 kg of substandard/unstamped meat and realised fine of Rs. 7,400 from the defaulters.
The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal conducted a drive at Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Gangyal, Satwari, Narwal, Kunjwani and Jewel.
The drive will remain continue in near future against all the food establishments/shopkeepers running in the market are strictly warned and directed to ensure the supply of good quality meat/chicken to the Citizens of Jammu City.
Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all the Shopkeepers especially those dealing with meat/chicken products to maintain hygienic environment and make available quality products to the consumers and also appeals to all the Shopkeepers/vendors and citizens of city not to use polythene carry bags failing which action under rule shall be initiated against them.
