Release pending DA installment: Employees

JAMMU: J and K Government Employees and Workers Joint Action Committee (R) urged government to release the pending 17 per cent D.A installment.
In this regard, a meeting of State Government employees was held under its President Babu Hussain Malik here. The employees condemned the State Government for deliberately backtracking from the commitment made wherein it was promised to fulfill all the pending demands of the employees including removal of pay anomalies and disparity of clerical cadre. They said that the Pay Anomalies’ Committee made by the government is an eye wash only to befool the clerical cadre employees.
Malik warned that if the demands of employees will not be addressed soon, the association will launch an agitation against the government.
Malik apprised that after the Fifth Pay Commission, the pay scales of Patwaris, teachers, medical assistants, stock assistants, junior wool shepherds etc (whose basic qualification is 10th or 12th) were upgraded from existing Rs 3,050-4,910 to 4,000-6,000 but clerical cadre employees were deprived of such benefits. “At present the basic qualification for direct recruitment to the post of Junior Assistant is Graduation with Certificate Course in Computer Application along wlth 35 w.p.m speed in Typing which was earlier Matric with 35 words per minute in typing. The government has changed the basic qualification and service rules of clerical cadre from time to time but the Grade of Junior Assistant is still at Rs 3,050-4,910 despite change in educational and technical qualifications and hard working conditions”, he rued.
Those who were present in the meeting include Khurshid Ahmad Dewani, Javeed Ahmad Akhoon, Bharat Bushon, Yashpal Sharma, Nazir Ahmad Butt, Parshotam Sharma, Seva Ram Rathore, Jaswant Singh, Meenakshi Sharma, Vipan Kumar, Yashpal Sharma, Kavi Raj, Inayat-ullah, Vikas Sharma, Munish Sharma, Uday Singh Pathania, Pawan Kumar, Mohammad Iqbal, Javed Iqbal, Vikas Gupta, Umer Jan, Rangil Singh, Lekh Raj, Satpal Singh, Ajay Khajuria, Ramesh Chander, Ali Mohammad, Raj Kumar, Ravinder Singh, Madan Lal, Pavnesh Kumar and Ashok Kumar.
