Rehbar-e-Khel Scheme to be introduced in JK soon: Ansari

JAMMU: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari on Thursday said that the government will soon introduce Rehbar-e-Khel (ReK) Scheme as a part of its policy to promote sports activities in the State.
The minister was interacting with the representatives of J and K Unemployed Physical Education and Sports Association (JKUPESA), who called on him here on Thursday.
The minister said that the government was serious in introducing Rehbar-e-Khel scheme under which trained physical education youth would be provided opportunity to serve as the promoters of sports activities at different levels.
He said there are about 7,311 trained unemployed physical youth whose services could be used to serve the purpose. He further said in the first phase, the government is engaging 1,500 ReKs adding that the matter with regard to their remuneration has already been taken up with the Finance Minister.
Responding to the demands put forth by the JKUPESA, the minister assured them that the selection of ReKs will be made purely on merit basis.
