This was informed by Yasir Nazir Salroo, Joint Secretary of the Association, in the press conference, here on Thursday.
Yasir said that the championship, which will witness the participation of over 25 states/UTs and affiliate units of Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India, is being sponsored by J and K State Sports Council.
He also said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti shall be the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Sports Minister Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari will be the Guest of Honour.
He further said there is no dearth of talent in the State of J and K and the only need is to explore it at the grass-root level by organising standard coaching camps and competitions at all levels, adding that 27th Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship is an initiative in that direction only.
“The championship apart from providing opportunity to the sports persons to hone their skill and compete with the best in the country, will also help them to interact with their counter parts of other states and exchange the culture, besides being a step forward in bringing peace and harmony in the state through the medium of sports”. Salroo added.
“All the arrangements with regard to comfortable stay of the visiting contingents, transportation, food and ground facilities have been made. We hope the championship is conducted in a befitting manner”, he said.
