JAMMU: Renowned Dogri and Hindi Poet, Kewal Kumar Kewal has been selected for Sahitya Shree Samman by the Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, Jhunjhunoo (Rajsthan).
Kewal is popular for his satirical poetry which depicts folk life and culture of Duggar. His poetry is the poetry of masses and for the masses.
Kewal has been awarded by the various social, cultural and literary organisations of the State as well as nation.
His poetry has been published in various Hindi and Dogri magazines and also broadcast by Radio Jammu and Doordarshan Kendra Jammu. He has one book published in 2013 entitled ‘Bela Meharbaan Ae’. Sahitya Shree Samman will be presented to Kewal on 11th August 2016 at Jhunjhunnoo (Rajsthan) by the Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, Rajsthan for the outstanding contribution of Kewal in the field of Hindi and Dogri poetry.
