Rangu Nag Temple gutted in mysterious blaze

KISHTWAR: In a fire incident Ancient Temple of Rangu Devta also known as Nag Temple was gutted in a mysterious fire incident in Tagood village of Chatroo area in Distt Kishtwar.
The ancient Rangu Devta Temple which is famous as Nag Temple (Kul Devta Temple of Tagood Villagers) is situated on the sloppy forest area of Village Tagood, 25 KM from Kishtwar Town. According to report, local people noticed the fire coming out from the temple and accordingly raised alarm, but till villagers acted, the temple was gutted completely. Locals alleged that the fire incident has shocked the whole community which suspected hands of mischievous elements and demanded probe into the circumstances.
“I have personally visit the spot and now dupted Deputy SP Headquarter Irshad Ahmed along with the concerned Chowki Officer to remain on the spot,” said SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir. “Only after proper investigation, police will be able to comment on the circumstances that lead to this fire incident.” “As of now, we registered a case under FIR No 39/2016 under section 457,295-A RPC at Police Station Chatroo and investigation has been started to ascertain the exact cause of fire,” SSP added.
