NAGROTA: Defining 20th December as defining moment for people of Nagrota to demonstrate their will through power of ballot, Provincial President National Conference, Devender Singh Rana on Tuesday the overwhelming decision will be for development and progress of the constituency.
“This is the day the people of Nagrota have been waiting for many years to teach a lesson to those who betrayed their trust by neglecting the area”, Rana said while addressing a series of election meetings across the constituency.
The National Conference candidate said that but for the grit and determination of the people, the area would have been deprived of even basics as their requirements were not projected at the appropriate fora. He complimented the people for rising to the occasion to seek their due and said the constituency is now brimming with hope and promise. In this context he spelled out the endeavours made over the years in tandem with the people of the area to put the constituency on the fast track development.
Rana assured the people that the next six years would be dedicated to holistic development of Nagrota, after drawing a road-map to realise the vision of transforming it as Nava Jammu. He said the task is daunting but not unachievable, given the strong will of the people. He said people’s commitment towards the area has been a source of motivation for him to knock at every door to get the developmental works expedited.
The Provincial President said that false promises or rhetoric were not answer to multifarious problems confronted to the areas like Nagrota and assured that he will strive for a special dispensation to address the issues related to development and progress of the area. H e said National Conference believes in creating conditions for people to lead dignified life and enjoy the fruits of development in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
“In the din of populism and rants of sloganeering, the real issues always take rear seat with development becoming a casualty”, Rana said while lauding the politically sagacious people of Nagrota for their endorsement to the policies and programmes of National Conference which is being reflected in immense measure by their participation in the ongoing democratic process. He said the conscious voters, especially the youngsters deserve pat for differentiating between good and bad. He hoped they will continue to support the National Conference thus making it a vibrant engine of change.
During the election meetings BJP Panches Baldev Ran and Kishore Kumar respectively from Panchayats Mathwar and Upper Jandiyal beside PDP activists from Panchayat Bamyal Nazir Ahmed and Barkat Ali joined the National Conference and pledged to work for ensuring big win for Devender Singh Rana.
