NAGROTA: National Conference Provincial President and MLA Nagrota Devender Singh Rana on Tuesday demanded CBI probe into the alleged malpractices, impersonation and bungling in the recruitment for the posts of Labour Clerks and Firemen in 15 Field Ammunition Depot, Kanyala in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
He said the police have already taken cognizance by registering FIR over malpractices being committed during the course of recruitment process today and the investigations have been set in motion.
“But this is not enough in view of deep nexus between some insiders with aspirants, as the malpractices have been committed for years”, he said and called for the CBI probe to dig out the truth and reach out to actual perpetrators.
The MLA Nagrota was addressing people at Kanyala in Block Dansal.
Rana said that he has been drawing the attention of the army top brass from time to time towards malpractices being committed in the Ammunition Depot, which despite assurances since its inception, has not fulfilled the commitment of recruiting local youth.
“Even for the current process of recruitment not a single youth was considered though there are reports that 28 candidates were found involved in impersonation during the written test held on 29th September 2016”, he added. The MLA Nagrota also reiterated his demand for relocation of the Ammunition Depot, as the residents living in its close periphery were quite often being harassed, or alternate plots for settlement of civilian population. He said the civilians are not allowed to do any type of construction or repair work of their existing houses. Not only this, they are not being allowed to construct even a toilet.
Rana said the civil-military relations in Nagrota were at their best but some black sheep in the dept were indulging in unethical practices which bring bad name to the armed forces.
He said the current exposure on backdoor appoints and that too non-local candidates has generated resentment among the people, who are genuinely feeling aggrieved and let down. He said inaction against the culprits will alienate the young people of the constituency and may vitiate the atmosphere.
While hoping the Army Headquarters to take immediate appropriate action, the MLA Nagrota said the CBI probe is also necessary keeping in view criminality involved in the recruitment process.
