Jammu: Vaishno Devi pilgrims had a narrow escape when the chopper carrying them developed a snag during take-off and alert pilot manage to land the copter safely at helipad in Katra on Tuesday. According to police; the Global Vectra Private Limited helicopter developed some technical problem while taking off this afternoon for the Bhawan from Katra as it spinned and rotated for sometime at the helipad instead of taking off. The alert pilot acted swiftly and managed to bring it down. Sources said that senior officers rushed to the spot to assess the situation and reported the matter to DGCA.
