Ramzan, Ajaz visit South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Minister for CAPD, Chowdhary Ramzan and Minister of State for Revenue, Ajaz Khan on Wednesday visited South Kashmir and took stock of the situation arisen due to the recent floods.
The ministers while interacting with the people told them that the concerned Deputy Commissioners have been directed to assess the quantum of damage to the property, Horticulture, Agriculture, live stock so that a comprehensive report can be prepared about the losses suffered by the people and accordingly relief is distributed among them.
They said that the relief is being distributed on daily basis in the flood hit areas so that the people whose crops and property have been damaged due to recent floods get the much needed help and assistance.
They also maintained that clear instructions have been passed to the departments of PHE, PDD, Health, R&B and Urban and Local Bodies to ensure that the people get requisite facilities of drinking water, power, medicare, road connectivity and cleanliness of the major towns and villages is done.
The ministers also maintained that the restoration work of the damaged water supply schemes has also been ensured on war footing basis.
Besides CAPD has been asked to provide ration to the affected people within next two days.
They said that Director Rural Development has been asked to carry out the assessment of damages in the rural areas.
