Rajendra felicitates students back from Rashtriya Ekta tour

JAMMU: After attending Rashtriya Ekta Shivir Camp at Village Pransla Rajkote Gujarat, a group of 40 students belonging to various remote areas of the State reached here this morning.
Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, felicitated the touring group at the lawns of Police Headquarters (PHQ).
The tour was organised by JKP under its civic action programme with the aim to connect the unprivileged youth of the State with the rich heritage and culture of the country.
The camp was also attended by students from various states of the country. During the camp, the students visited many tourist and historical places in Ahmadabad and other neighbouring states.
Interacting with the students, Rajendra asked the youth to use the knowledge and expertise gained during the tour for their future growth and development.
“Interactions with the students of other regions helps students to share and experience the cultural diversity of the country and instills in them sense of patriotism and belonging,” he said adding that the lectures delivered by famous intellectuals during the camp would also enhance knowledge of the youth on different subjects.
He also said various eminent people addressed the camp including Chief Minister of Gujarat, Deputy Project Director ISRO, retired Army Generals, doctors and experts of different subjects who spoke about topics of students’ interest.
The students expressed their happiness over the experiences during the tour. They thanked the JKP for organising such a tour.
Among others, the function was attended by ADsGP, S.P Vaid, Navin Agerwal and S.M Sahai, IsGP, H.K Lohia, Yoginder Koul, Rajesh Kumar and Viplav Kumar, DPT, Hilal Ahmed, DIsGP, Alok Kumarand Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Dir. Prosecution, Pawan Gupta, SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand, CO, Vijay Kumar, AIsGP, Dr. Hassib Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Mahmood and Kulbir Singh, Sr. ADO (PHQ), BA Shah and Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu, Dr. Wasiq Rasool and other police officers.
